J. Koganemaru is an undergraduate student currently attending New York University. While his main interests lies in the mathematical sciences, he strongly believes in the power of communities, and believes that communities help transform the world by spreading the spirit of human creativity and human understanding.
He is engaged in raising awareness for the Asian-American community. He believes that there is a lack of available platforms for Asian-American students to voice their opinions. To provide the community an outlet to discuss important minority issues, he co-founded, InOtherWords, the first Chinese publication in New York specialized high schools.
J. Koganemaru also hopes to aspire future generations to use mathematics as a fundamental tool for understanding the modern world. As such, he also serves as one of the organizers for Courant Splash, a free one-day lecture series available to high school students that promotes mathematical education. J. Koganemaru plans to pursue a PhD in Mathematics in the future.
