Su Xin-Yuan, a vocalist from Beijing, is a graduate of the renowned Tianjin Academy of Music, at which she completed her training in vocal performance (bel canto) with distinction. She then moved on to the prestigious Shanghai Academy of Music, and pursued further studies in music theory and education.
Having been coached by various master vocalists and performers, Su is noted for her wide range of repertoires in English, Italian, French and German, and for her unique ability in incorporating bel canto, folk style and pop into her singing. She was a medallist of the CCTV Young Singers Competition, and has given performances on domestic and international stages. Many of her albums received critical acclaim and commercial success. In 2008, Su gave an extraordinary performance at the Beijing Olympic Opening Ceremony.
As a teacher, Su is committed in introducing the beauty of music to children and the wider community. Her students are frequent winners of the choral music competitions in Beijing, and her writings are viewed by the community members as a guide to music appreciation and pop culture.
